Demons Forever by Sarra Cannon

Goodreads Summary:
Harper has come so far from her life as a foster child. She never imagined what her future would hold when she was first brought to the small town of Peachville. Since that day she’s faced great evil, found some of the answers she’s been looking for, and fallen deeply, madly in love. But her biggest challenge and her greatest lessons are still ahead of her.

Despite living in the safety of her father’s castle in the shadow world, Harper knows there is a storm brewing just beyond the dome. Priestess Winter will never rest until she gets the Order’s blue ring back, and Jackson won’t let her forget they now hold the key to Aerden’s future.

When an unexpected visitor from Peachville arrives at the castle, bleeding and near death, his story brings Harper to her knees. Someone she loves has been kidnapped and it’s time for her to make a choice. Stay in the safety of the domed city? Or go back to the place where it all began?

My Review:
This is the final book in this series. I am sad to see it end but, wow did this book pack a punch! Full of action, heartache and life changing decisions. Harper finally gets to meet and spend time with her Father and within minutes of getting to the castle they are attacked. Harper's life is going in a downward spiral unless decisions are made. She has to choose between the safety of the Dome or helping the enslaved demons and innocent humans in Peachville. There are a lot of discussions about how this will be done.

We finally get to find out who Harper's sister is!! Priestess Winters is also a lot crazier and heartless then I thought. So many answers come to light during Demons Forever. A lot of it is kind of shocking. I didn't see it coming. Such great writing in order to put it all together! Harper needs to deal with her enemies otherwise her and her loved ones will never be safe. Will Harper survive the biggest battle of her life? Can she learn to wield her demon and witch magic? Will her and her friends survive?

Jackson remains the loyal loving boyfriend. He is there for Harper and helps her when she needs it the most. I felt kind of bad for Harper when he was talk about Lea but, I think he was just being nice. He and Harper are perfect for each other. They will give their lives for each other. Will they end up happy and together forever? You will have to read and wait for Jackson's drawing!

The other characters are great! I loved Mary Anne and Essex are great! They were their for Harper when she truly needed them. We also get to see a bit of Zara and Lark again. I really enjoyed Harper's Father too. He had a lot on his plate but, in the end did what he thought was right.

These books have been an amazing ride. I am so sad that the series is over. It is one of my favorites. I recommend you pick this one up!!

Persephone's Orchard by Molly Ringle

Goodreads Summary:
The Greek gods never actually existed. Did they? Sophie Darrow finds she was wrong about that assumption when she's pulled into the spirit realm, complete with an Underworld, on her first day at college. Adrian, the mysterious young man who brought her there, simply wants her to taste a pomegranate.

Soon, though she returns to her regular life, her mind begins exploding with dreams and memories of ancient times; of a love between two Greeks named Persephone and Hades. But lethal danger has always surrounded the immortals, and now that she's tainted with the Underworld's magic, that danger is drawing closer to Sophie.

My Review:
I was lucky enough to be approached by the author to do a review for this book. Of course I was instantly interested given my love of all things mythology related. This was the most creative take on Hades and Persephone's story  have ever read. I absolutely loved it. The reincarnation into new bodies was brilliant. We got to see an Underworld like we never have. Through Persephone's and Hade's memories we got to see and learn about the Underworld through them. There was so much to take in and the writing was done in such a way that I could picture it. The back and forth between now and past memories was done great. I didn't feel like the story stalled or flowed badly. I loved this story of Persephone and Hades and I never thought I would say that!

Sophie is your average teenager who is going off to college and trying to adjust to being away from family and her boyfriend. She barley gets to college and things take a turn for the crazy. She is pulled into an alternate universe where she meets Adrian. Who tries pretty hard to convince her he isn't a stalker. Things for Sophie will never be the same after that. She is now plunged into a world of magic, love, and danger. Not everyone likes the idea of immortals being able to make more and alternate universes. Things get dangers for Sophie's life quickly changes from normal to not normal. She has to make important decisions that could potentially change her life forever. Will she be able to give up her family and her life for love? Will she ever be safe again?

Hades is described as the hottest version of him I have ever heard. I am completely, 100% ok with this. He isn't evil like in other depictions of him. The world is set up so well that I felt like I really go to know him. All the description and past flashbacks were definitely needed to understand this version of the story. The romance was great. I didn't feel like it was rushed or forced. Very tactful. I loved Sophie and Adrian. They were amazing together. You will see why when you read the book!

If you like Mythology at all you must read this book. It was one of the best mythology/romance books I have read. I would highly recommend it!

Summary (Via Edelweiss):
Jules should be happy. She saved a lot of people’s lives and she’s finally with Sawyer, pretty much the guy of her dreams. But the nightmare’s not over, because she somehow managed to pass the psycho vision stuff to Sawyer. Excellent.

Feeling responsible for what he’s going through and knowing that people’s lives are at stake, Jules is determined to help him figure it all out. But Sawyer’s vision is so awful he can barely describe it, much less make sense of it. All he can tell her is there’s a gun, and eleven ear-splitting shots. Bang.

Jules and Sawyer have to work out the details fast, because the visions are getting worse and that means only one thing: time is running out. But every clue they see takes them down the wrong path. If they can’t prevent the vision from happening, lives will be lost. And they may be among the casualties…

The Eternity Cure by Julie Kagawa

Goodreads Summary:
Allison Sekemoto has vowed to rescue her creator, Kanin, who is being held hostage and tortured by the psychotic vampire Sarren. The call of blood leads her back to the beginning—New Covington and the Fringe, and a vampire prince who wants her dead yet may become her wary ally.

Even as Allie faces shocking revelations and heartbreak like she’s never known, a new strain of the Red Lung virus that decimated humanity is rising to threaten human and vampire alike.

My Review:
Usually I don't like a sequel as much as the first book. This one was the exception to that. I liked The Eternity Cure more then The Immortal Rules. A lot of time has passed since Allison left Zeke and his companions at Eden. She is desperately trying to find Kanin. She can feel him and sometimes has dreams through his eyes and his time is running out. There is also another pull she is feeling, who ends up being her brother and helps her find Kanin. Their search leads them back to Allison's home of New Convington. When they get there however something strange is going on . The humans are crazy, bleeding, tearing their own faces of and attacking them. To me they sounded an awful lot like zombies except that they were still alive. They end up retreating down into the sewers where they run into a group of un-infected humans. Who's leader is none other then....Zeke. Will this group of two vampires and a human survive long enough to find Kanin? Will Sarren kill them? Is there a cure?

I loved the characters in this book. Zeke the beautiful strong man who has changed. He is on a mission to find Allie and has a hard side to him now. I hated Jackel in the first book but, he was pretty awesome in this one. He has lost almost all of his humanity but, he still cares. Kanin is still a bad ass vampire Master with lots of great advice. Unfortunately his time is now limited due to the Prince being a sneaky jerk. Lets not forget Stick. He has completely changed and for the worst. I wanted to beat him. Allie was awesome with him, especially towards the end. Allie is pretty kick ass now. She can fight. She struggles with keeping some humanity and keeping her demon on a leash throughout the book. She is still scared to be a monster.

Zeke and Allies relationship will never be normal. Allie is always worried about going crazy and killing him. They both want to be with each other. He keeps her grounded in a way. He keeps her somewhat human. He is her rock and she doesn't think she can ever lose him. Zeke makes her promise to never turn him into a vampire even if he is dying. Allie struggles with this. It is even harder when the unthinkable happens.

This book had me laughing, shocked and crying. Especially after the cliffhanger of an ending!!! I have an idea of what may happen but, I honestly don't know if I am right. Unfortunately, I have to wait until 2014 to find out what is going to happen! It will be a long wait, but probably will be worth it!

Meeting Jett was like bad luck. Dangerous. Unpredictable. And better avoided. In his game, the stakes are high. But are they worth the risk?

Brooke Stewart, a realtor in New York, finds forgetting is hard, but forgiving is harder. When the man she trusted, betrayed her, the only way to forget is to move on. Brooke is determined to start a new life, until she meets him again: the green-eyed, sexy as sin, six foot two sex god. The man who played dirty. The man who played her.

Sexy, handsome, and arrogant Jett Mayfield knows he has made mistakes. He could have any other woman, and yet it’s Brooke he wants. When second chances collide with secrets and Brooke is threatened by the past, Jett is determined to protect her. She accepts his help unwillingly because she needs him but she wants to play his game on her own terms. And she has no intention to forgive or let him back into her bed.

When the man she is supposed to hate is the one she should trust, will he conquer her…or lose her forever?

A woman who can’t forgive.
A man who has made mistakes.
Two lives that are about to cross again and more secrets laid bare.

My Review
Conquer your Love starts of right where Surrender you Love ends. Brooke is heart broken and upset. Jett lied to her. He got close to her to get a property that she ended up being the heir to. She didn't give him much of a chance to explain, she was so upset she ran out and refused to talk to him. So what do you do after all that? You go to Italy with your attorney and work out your inheritance of an estate! Oh yes, and bringing your best friend with is a must. What a great place to let your heard heal. Sylvie and Brooke decide to go out to a club and just let loose. What Brooke doesn't expect is to run into Jett and to feel all aflutter when she does. She agrees to a "date" so they can talk in private. Jett won't give up on her. In his eyes she is the one. He also knows a little more about the inheritance and the danger it entails. Brooke is in danger and Jett may have the answer as to why. There was a lot more mystery in this book then I expected. Will Brooke figure out what the heck is going on? Why does Alessandro have such specific requests about leaving the property alone?

Jett is kind of like the big knight in shining armor on a white horse who rides in to save the day. He tried so hard to get Brooke to forgive him. He is really trying to redeem himself. Especially since Brooke's life is in danger. There is more going on behind the scenes then Brook realizes. I loved reading about these two. They both want each other and are denying themselves. I wanted to shake Brooke and yell at her to listen to Jett and forgive the man! There romance get's pretty hot and heavy. I mean these two really click. I wanted them to get back together so bad!!!

Although Brooke is not the only one getting a little romance. Sylvie has found her big, dark, and handsome man in Italy. Things get series quick with him and Brooke is kind of worried. He looks like a scary guy and she is worried about Sylvie's safety. Especially with everything that's going on. I kind of hope we get to read their story.

This story was fun to read. It was one of the only times I was shocked by something. It's a something that Sylvie and Brooke accidentally discover together. I did NOT see it coming at all! It should make a great twist for the next book! Which I can't wait to get my hands on!

Release Date: October 1, 2013

Goodreads Summary:
LOVE WILL KILL US ALL
Violet Eden thought she was getting things under control. Then all hell breaks loose-literally. In the war between angels and exiles, she's about to face the biggest baddie of all time. Except she's not nearly ready.

The dark exile Phoenix is still messing with her head-not to mention her heart. And her undeniable attraction to Lincoln has gotten downright dangerous. When Hell unleashes its worst, Violet must embrace every facet of her angel self to save the people she cares about and the world as she knows it. But death is not the worst thing she will face...

My Thoughts:
I LOVE this series. It is such an original kind of Angel and Demon story. I was hooked instantly and the covers are all great. It's hard to pick a favorite out of the first 4 so far. The last book was so good. I am dying to get my hands on this book.

Sweet Peril by Wendy Higgins

Goodreads Summary:
Anna Whitt, the daughter of a guardian angel and a demon, promised herself she’d never do the work of her father—polluting souls. She’d been naive to make such a vow. She’d been naive about a lot of things.

Haunted by demon whisperers, Anna does whatever she can to survive, even if it means embracing her dark side and earning an unwanted reputation as her school’s party girl. Her life has never looked more bleak. And all the while there’s Kaidan Rowe, son of the Duke of Lust, plaguing her heart and mind.

When an unexpected lost message from the angels surfaces, Anna finds herself traveling the globe with Kopano, son of Wrath, in an attempt to gain support of fellow Nephilim and give them hope for the first time. It soon becomes clear that whatever freedoms Anna and the rest of the Neph are hoping to win will not be gained without a fight. Until then, Anna and Kaidan must put aside the issues between them, overcome the steamiest of temptations yet, and face the ultimate question: is loving someone worth risking their life?

My Review:
I was so excited for this book. I loved Sweet Evil. Anna has grown since we last saw her. She is working but, only like half way. She doesn't like it. She wants to be different. Unfortunately things with her and Kai are stressed and we don't see as much of them in this book. Things are changing and a prophecy is revealed and Anna is right in the middle of it. This leads to her and her Dad trying to find allies. Other Neph who don't like working and want things to change. We get to see a lot of other characters in this book, meet some new Neph. Anna has to recruit, with Kopano, all over the world. It's not as easy as it sounds either. They run into a few problems and the Duke's are not stupid. Not everyone will survive this. And judging by the prophecy the worst is yet to come. Will Anna and her friends find enough people to help? Will her and Kai ever get a chance to be together?

There is a lot of action going on in this book. We get to learn a lot about the new people and what is going on in the Neph world. The book sets up the next book pretty well. I have no idea what is going to happen in the next book. I have really high hopes for these guys. It's going to be pretty hard to get a happy ending here.

Kopano was another potential love interest in this one. I liked him in book 1 but, I was already in love with Kai so...Anna is dealing with the heart ache of losing Kai. This for her just don't seem to be getting better. Her and Kopano are great friends together. He is keeping a secret from Anna though. One that changes things. Things between them cross the friend line and it leaves them kind of confused about each other. It's also not great when Kai finds out.

It's hard to be in love with the son of Lust. Given his urges and job. Anna has a hard time being shut down by him and hearing that they can't be together. It's kind of heart wrenching to read about actually. There are a few hot moments though between them! This can lead to bad things considering Anna needs her virtue and all. Things for these two will never be easy and they may never truly 100% get to be with each other. I am so curious to see where it's going to go though!

In My Mailbox #29

In my Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by The Mod Podge Bookshelf. It's a way for bloggers to share which books they received. I am hoping to do this every week, unless I have a slow week! I have toned down buying the books because I have so many to read! I am not buying as many books right now because there are so many I have to read right now. So I will have a shorter lists!

Received by Author (SIGNED!!)

Until I Break by M. Leighton
(This one is no longer on the market. She pulled it after a few days. So it is super special to me!!)

Goodreads:
Drew Evans is a winner. Handsome and arrogant, he makes multimillion dollar business deals and seduces New York’s most beautiful women with just a smile. He has loyal friends and an indulgent family. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed?

He’ll tell you he has the flu.

But we all know that’s not really true.

Katherine Brooks is brilliant, beautiful and ambitious. She refuses to let anything - or anyone - derail her path to success. When Kate is hired as the new associate at Drew’s father’s investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy’s life is thrown into a tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction to her is distracting, his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating.

Then, just when Drew is on the cusp of having everything he wants, his overblown confidence threatens to ruin it all. Will he be able untangle his feelings of lust and tenderness, frustration and fulfillment? Will he rise to the most important challenge of his life?

Can Drew Evans win at love?

Tangled is not your mother’s romance novel. It is an outrageous, passionate, witty narrative about a man who knows a lot about women…just not as much as he thinks he knows. As he tells his story, Drew learns the one thing he never wanted in life, is the only thing he can’t live without.

Goodreads (free on Amazon):
Allison O'Malley's plan is to go to grad school so she can get a good job and take care of her schizophrenic mother. She has carefully closed herself off from everything else, including a relationship with Ethan, who she's been in love with for as long as she can remember.

What is definitely not part of the plan is the return of her long-lost father, who claims he can bring Allison's mother back from the dark place her mind has gone. Allison doesn't trust her father, so why would she believe his stories about a long forgotten Irish people, the Tuatha de Danaan? But truths have a way of revealing themselves. Secrets will eventually surface. And Allison must learn to set aside her plan and work with her father if there is even a small chance it could restore her mother's sanity.
