Title: Stalked by Death
Author: Kelly Hashway
Release Date: August 13, 2013

Synopsis
Jodi knows that any slip-ups made by the Ophi--a special group of necromancers born under the 13th sign of the zodiac--will fall on her shoulders... and that Hades is just waiting for them to screw up so he can wipe out the Ophi line.

Unfortunately, Jodi has only convinced one Ophi to join her school: A hot guy named Chase who jeopardizes her relationship with Alex. Jodi loves Alex, but Chase can enhance her powers with just a touch—making her stronger than any Ophi has ever been.

Her mixed emotions send her powers surging out of control, and the dead start rising without her conscious summoning—exactly what Hades doesn't want! If she chooses Alex over Chase, she may lose the battle to Hades, leading the Ophi race to extinction. If she chooses Chase, she might be able to stop Hades for good… but lose everything else.

Jodi needs to figure things out fast--because death is stalking her at every turn.

My Review
Stalked by Death picks up where book one left off. Jodi is in charge of the Ophi school now. This is a huge thing for her. She has to do her job in order to keep Hades from coming after her. It is proving to be a harder task then she thought. Getting other Ophi groups to join her is nearly impossible. She does manage to get a new member to come though. His name is Chase. Strange things start happening when Jodi is around Chase. Specifically when he touches her. Her emotions are going crazy and so are her powers. The dead are rising when Jodi is sleeping, showing up in her room! Not to mention her relationship problems with Alex. Chase has kind of thrown a wrench into their relationship. Will Jodi's new power with Chase prove to be helpful or harmful? Who will Jodi choose? With all these crazy risings will Hades keep his word and come after Jodi?

Jodi grew somewhat in this book as a character. She learned how to deal with the stress of her new responsibilities pretty well. considering she's a teenager! I felt bad for her throughout the book, she had so much going on. I think she came out a stronger person though. There are a few new characters introduced too, who are great!

A book wouldn't be good without some boy drama! Which this one has! Sometimes a little to much. I was to the point where I thought Jodi should just be alone for a while to get her head on straight. Jodi definitely has some feelings for Chase. There's no denying it. But, how do you choose between the one you love and the guy who increases your power with just a touch. Lets not forget that Chase is also insanely good looking and  flirty. This was the fist time I thought a relationship might be doomed. I am still Team Alex however. I hope there is no permanent damage between Jodi and Alex but, I honestly don't know. I felt like during parts of the book the guy drama was kind of overpowering but, at the end it alllll made sense.

The end of this book was crazy! I was like WHAT JUST HAPPENED!?!? I have to know what is going to happen. I was so hooked that I didn't even realize I was at the end when I turned the last page. I am looking forward to Face of Death which will be out in January of 2014!

ARC Review of The Arrangement Vol. 9 by H.M. Ward

Amazon Summary:
When Avery finds out that the cowboy who requested her services for the night is Marty, things take an unexpected turn. If Avery declines her friend, she'll be in trouble with Miss Black, but if she accepts--this could mean a new, normal relationship and saying farewell to Sean forever.

Genre: New Adult Romance
This story unfolds over multiple volumes approx. 20,000 words each.

~The Arrangement Vol 1-9 are on sale now.~

My Review:
I am just going to jump right into this review. Volume 8 ended with Avery opening the hotel room door to find Marty standing there in a cowboy outfit! Omg! I know right. I am coming back onto his side. He's kind of been licking his wounds for the last couple volumes. What he did was wrong in so many ways, that is until he explains why he did it. Then it kind of melts your heart. He is a good friend. Even if he is having a hard time controlling his feelings for Avery. I'm not going to lie, I kind of wanted these two to get together...for just a little bit anyway. I'm still team Sean. Will their relationship every be the same? Can Avery stand to lose more people in her life?

I LOVE Mel's idea of proposing to Sean and getting it all out there. It's a bold move that he would never be expecting and that is why it is crazy enough to work. Especially after their hot sexting scene. Wow yea, that was some kind of crazy intense. I have never read a scene like that before. There should be more of them! She goes through a great deal of thinking to pick out just the right ring. Which she did an amazing job doing. For Avery, unfortunately, things do not go as planned. She catches Sean in a compromising position and things are not as they seem. Avery has been lied to and some seriously personal information is out there with someone. Will things ever work out for these two?

I am seriously worrying about how these guys story is going to end. Especially now. Good Lord...the ending was like O_O. I have no words. I have no idea what will happen next but, I hope we will find out soon. I love the novellas, I can sit and read them in a night! That's the best part! So keep them coming please!

by M. Clarke (Mary Ting's pen name)

Synopsis
* This is a New Adult romance novel recommended for ages 18+ due to sexual content and mature subject matter.

She didn’t know what she was missing…until he found her.

Maxwell Knight was positively trouble, dangerously good-looking, and seductively charming. He was everything Jeanella didn’t need in her life. Only Maxwell didn’t see it that way. His pursuit was relentless, making her even more determined to push him away.

Fresh out of college, life was simple and plain for Jeanella Mefferd. Every part of her life was smooth sailing; her friends, her job, and even the guy she’d started dating. Then one night, while at dinner, she spotted someone who made her feel things she’d never felt before—dangerous, heart pounding and breathless heat. Thinking she would never see him again, she brushed it off, but when she started to run into him unexpectedly, all she could think of was how he made her feel with his sweet flirtations. Everything about Maxwell Knight screamed trouble, especially when she found out he was her new boss’s son. Now, heading to a New York fashion show, would she be able to focus on her career instead of Maxwell, who had been scheduled to attend with her? As much as she tried to forget their encounters, his good looks, smooth words and determination to win her over gravitated her toward him. The next thing she knew, her mind was utterly consumed by him. Would she be willing to ignore all the dangerous signs and jump into his arms? Or would she miss out on the chance of finding something great?

Frigid by J. Lynn

Goodreads Summary:
For twenty-one-year-old Sydney, being in love with Kyler isn't anything new. They'd been best friends ever since he pushed her down on the playground and she made him eat a mud pie. Somewhere over the years, she fell for him and fell hard. The big problem with that? Kyler puts the 'man' in man-whore. He's never stayed with a girl longer than a few nights, and with it being their last year in college, Syd doesn't want to risk their friendship by declaring her love.

Kyler has always put Syd on a pedestal that was too high for him to reach. To him, she's perfect and she's everything. But the feelings he has for her, he's always hidden away or focused on any other female. After all, Kyler will always be the poor boy from the wrong side of tracks, and Syd will always be the one girl he can never have.

But when they're stranded together at a posh ski resort due to a massive Nor'easter, there's nothing stopping their red-hot feelings for each other from coming to the surface. Can their friendship survive the attraction? Better yet, can they survive at all? Because as the snow falls, someone is stalking them, and this ski trip may be a life-changer in more ways than one.

My Review (Part 1):
Next to Obsession, Frigid is my favorite J. Lynn book. I LOVED IT! I read this book in less then 24 hours and couldn't put it down. Frigid is full of love, passion, and heartache. Sydney and Kyler have been best friends forever. Kyler is a hot guy with a great body and he knows it. He is popular with the ladies. Sydney is more of the responsible/quite one. She has loved Kyler for a while but, can't tell him. Their story is sweet and sad at the same time. Unrequited love has to be the worst. At least that's what Sydney thinks. Secretly Kyler never thought he was good enough for Sydney.

When they head up to the cabin for their yearly ski trip and get stormed in things change. They are alone and their growing feelings for each other are getting harder to keep control. That's not all either! Someone is playing games with them during the storm. Deadly games. Their lives may at risk too. Will Kyler and Sydney be able to tell each other how they really feel? Can they be with each other? Will they survive at all?

Kyler is a hot guy issues. He likes to sleep around. Mostly because the girl he truly wants he can't have. I thought the way him and Sydney were together was super cute. The way he kind of protected her and didn't want her hooking up with random guys. There were times I just wanted to shake Sydney and be like "get it together and tell him how you feel!" She tried I'll give her that. Her and her "lady balls". I really loved them together. They were perfect. The romance scenes between them were sooo hot! Like you might need birth control after reading it hot. Will they get their happily ever after?

There were a lot of crazy things that happened with the crazy stalker. They were a little caught up in each other to really take it seriously I think. Which was fine with me! Another amazing book under J. Armentrouts belt!! Keep them coming!!!
Review (Part 2):
I had to do this, this book deserves pictures rather then just words so here we go...how I felt while reading this one~!
Did that girl seriously just come out of his bathroom...

Sasha??? Really???

Wow...these guys are making me sad...

There snowed in together!! Alone!!

Things are heating up!

Holy hotness wrapped in a ball of sexy...

Kyler...so sweet...can't...handle..it...

That one part at the end just made me want to...

So in conclusion. Loved the book! Will anxiously wait for anything else Jennifer Armentrout writes.

How do you choose what book to read next?

  • I always start with my ARC's or blog tour books that I need to read for the month.
  • Then I move on to for review books. Sometimes it takes a while to get to those.
  • Then off to my to be read list is after that so you can tell why TBR list is sooooooo long!
  • Some of the best books I have read are books from authors requesting reviews or blog tours. It is very hard for me to say no because of that. Which is another reason why my TBR list is so long...like 200 long...no joke. I also work full time as a Register Nurse so I get most of my reading done on the weekends. If I had more time I would totally read more!

Why do you blog about books?
  •  Blogging was something I thought a lot about. I started creating a blog twice and deleted it. I never really did it for the followers. I love books! Like almost all books. I really like helping the authors get their name out there and exposing people to books they may not have heard of. There are so many authors that were self pub when I started their books who are now published. I like to think that I had a hand in getting them out there. Even if I didn't. I have met a lot of super awesome authors throughout this experience and I love it. Books are just a huge part of my life and I like sharing that with people!
