Poison Dance by Livia Blackburne

Goodreads Summary:
James is skilled, efficient, and deadly, a hired blade navigating the shifting alliances of a deteriorating Assassin’s Guild. Then he meets Thalia, an alluring but troubled dancing girl who offers him a way out—if he’ll help her kill a powerful nobleman. With the Guild falling apart, it just might be worth the risk. But when you live, breathe, and love in a world that’s forever flirting with death, the slightest misstep can be poison. Poison dance is approximately 14,000 words, or 54 printed pages.

My Review:
Assassins and romance. What else could you ask for. Poison Dance gives us a quick introduction to the main characters. I was a little confused at times but, it all made sense later. Poison Dance is the prequel to the full novel Midnight Thief. There is world building and character building. James is an assassin for the Guild and it so happens the guildleader has died. This makes thing interesting. James is also smitten by Thalia, who is seeking his very special skill set to get revenge on someone. Will James be able to help Thalia?

These two are cute together. James is obviously perfect for her plans. They are able to help each other. I am interested to see where the story will go from here. The band of men in the guild are also interesting. I am curious about their stories and for what is going to happen next.
