Stone Cold Touch by Jennifer Armentrout

Goodreads Summary:
Every touch has its price

Layla Shaw is trying to pick up the pieces of her shattered life—no easy task for a seventeen-year-old who’s pretty sure things can’t get worse. Her impossibly gorgeous best friend, Zayne, is forever off-limits thanks to the mysterious powers of her soul-stealing kiss. The Warden clan that has always protected her is suddenly keeping dangerous secrets. And she can barely think about Roth, the wickedly hot demon prince who understood her in ways no one else could.

But sometimes rock bottom is only the beginning. Because suddenly Layla’s powers begin to evolve, and she’s offered a tantalizing taste of what has always been forbidden. Then, when she least expects it, Roth returns, bringing news that could change her world forever. She’s finally getting what she always wanted, but with hell literally breaking loose and the body count adding up, the price may be higher than Layla is willing to pay…

My Review:
Layla has not has an easy time since the battle and Roth being returned to Hell. She doesn't know if she will ever see him again. Her heart is broken. Lucky for Layla she still has Zayne. She is conflicted because of the feelings she has for him and the loss she is feeling for Roth. Then Layla's world is rocked again when Roth returns but, he is not the same. He no longer wants Layla and claims she was just a distraction. This makes her heart break even more. It also pushes her right into the arms of Zayne. The all to willing protector. Roth also brings news of a terrible creature potentially birthed from the events that took place at the end of White Hot Kiss. This monster can steal a sole with a simple touch. The race to find the Lilin is on! With Roth back in the picture who will Layla choose? Will they be able to find the Lilin or is there more going on then Layla knows?

Layla struggles with men in this book. She has feelings for Roth but, she has loved Zayne her whole life. Armentrout has a way of making you love both guys! I was team Roth in book 1 and now I am team Zayne! Why do you do this to me!? Zayne is amazing, perfect really. He deeply loves Layla and it took almost losing her to figure that out. There is the trouble of not being able to kiss him without sucking his soul out. Armentrout is letting the readers choose who Layla ends up with and honestly I have no idea who I am going to choose.

Roth is still broody and nice at the same time. He puts distance between him and Layla because he has to to keep her safe. He has more then one job since returning and Layla is in the dark about it. She can't know, it would change everything. Then when the Warden's turn on Layla after an accident Roth is there for her. I just don't know! I love them both. Can't she be with both!?!

The ending took me for surprise. A few things shocked in this book. Especially the Wardens. I am not sure I like them much anymore. So much has happened and I don't know where it will go from here. The end left us with quite the conflict. The next book couldn't come fast enough!!!
